Host restore points: create and use

A host restore point returns the whole host and every mate to an earlier time. Restoring replaces later data, so check the source, time and scope first.

Open the management dashboard → Host Operations → Advanced host operations. Restore points are managed by the hosting provider’s snapshot service. If you see Restore point service is not enabled on this host, contact support about available options.

This guide covers creating a point and restoring it. For one mate’s settings or program version, start with the backup comparison.

Create

Check the listed sources, times and slots. A new restore point may replace an old one. The confirmation lists expected deletions or replacements.

Slots shownRetention
1Shared with system auto backup. Your point is replaced at the next system backup.
More than 1One slot is for system auto backup; the rest are for your points. The listed user points expire after 30 days.
  1. Select Create Restore Point.
  2. Review the points expected to be replaced. Cancel if you need to keep them. Otherwise tick the confirmation checkbox and select Confirm.
  3. Wait while Creating restore point, usable in about 2 minutes appears. The page checks again automatically.
  4. Confirm that the new source and time are listed and its restore button is available.

Two minutes is an estimate; use the readiness shown on screen. You cannot create another point while one is being created. If the new point is not listed, refresh to check, then contact support if it is still missing.

Revert to a restore point

The whole host returns to the selected time. All later changes to conversations, memory, notes, settings, schedules and files are replaced and cannot be recovered. The dashboard and every mate go offline; the page estimates 2–5 minutes. Save needed data and notify other users first.

  1. Check the source and time. Revert to My Restore Point selects your latest available point; Revert to System Auto Backup uses a system backup. Other sources may show Revert to Restore Point.
  2. Use Revert to Support-Created Restore Point only as directed by support.
  3. Select the matching button. Check the source and time again, tick I understand data will be permanently lost and select Confirm.
  4. Wait for the dashboard to reconnect. The host may still respond for several seconds before going offline.
  5. Check mate status, required data and AI-account settings before resuming work.

Reloading or leaving and returning within the same tab resumes the waiting screen. Closing the tab loses that screen but does not stop a submitted restore.

Failure or an unclear result

  • The point is still being created: wait for its button to become available.
  • Host is busy with another maintenance operation. Try again shortly.: wait for that operation to finish.
  • Failed to revert. Host state unchanged. Please contact support.: send support the exact message and restore-point source and time.
  • The host has not returned, or you closed the page and cannot confirm the result: check the host entry and ask support to verify. Do not send repeated restore requests.
