Host maintenance: free space and restart
Free Up Space removes unused program images and cache. Restart Host takes every mate offline briefly. Choose the action you need and check its impact first.
Open the management dashboard → Host Operations. Choose Free up space or Restart the host.
Free up space
Under Host maintenance tools, this cleans unused Docker images and build cache. It leaves mate data volumes, conversations and memory in place.
Cleanup invalidates all mates’ local version backups. Keep them if you still need to return to a previous version. This frees disk storage, not RAM.
- Check Storage and the removable images/cache listed below the button.
- Select Free Up Space, read the impact, tick the checkbox and select Confirm.
- Wait for “Freed up … GB” and check storage use again.
Cleanup has a 10-minute cooldown. Follow the countdown. Nothing to remove right now. means this tool has nothing to clean. For Cleanup failed or continuing pressure, use Backup and resource problems and contact support if needed.
Restart the host
Open Advanced host operations → Restart Host. Use it to apply pending system updates or when support confirms it is needed. For one mate, use Mate restart first.
Restarting interrupts the dashboard and every mate’s conversations, work and schedules. The page estimates about 60 seconds. It does not deliberately delete data, but active work can be interrupted. Save progress and notify other users.
- Check that no essential work or maintenance operation is active.
- Select Restart Host, read the impact, tick the checkbox and select Confirm.
- Wait for the host and services to return. After the restart-complete message and reload, check each mate’s status.
For The machine did not restart, read the reason. If the host has not responded after 5 minutes or the result is unclear, check the host entry and contact support. Avoid repeated restart requests.
