Connect Telegram: token, pairing and notifications

Paste your Telegram bot token in the dashboard, then approve your account to chat with your mate. Set a notification destination if you also want scheduled results in Telegram.

Before you start

Your mate must be running with a working AI model. Sign in to Telegram on your phone or computer.

Open the dashboard → Mate Settings → choose your mate at the top → Messaging. Each mate has her own connection. Use a separate bot for each mate.

Saving or replacing a token restarts this mate and interrupts her current work. Replies on her messaging apps are delayed during the restart. Wait for important work to finish first.

1. Create a Telegram bot

  1. Open the official @BotFather. Check the account name and verification mark.
  2. Send /newbot. Follow the prompts for a display name and a username ending in bot. Choose another username if it is taken.
  3. Copy the whole token from BotFather. It looks like 123456789:ABC….

A token controls the bot. Treat it as a password and paste it only into the dashboard’s Telegram settings. See Telegram’s official guide.

2. Paste the token in the dashboard

  1. On this mate’s Telegram card in Messaging, select Paste bot token.
  2. Paste the whole token and select Confirm.
  3. Wait for the restart and the card’s result. The screen estimates 10–40 seconds. Continue when the controls unlock.

If the token button is missing, the dashboard may be older. Contact support for help. Keep the token out of mate conversations.

3. Approve your account

  1. Open your new bot in Telegram and send “Hello.”
  2. The bot may return Your pairing code and ask for a terminal command. You can handle pairing in the dashboard.
  3. The card refreshes about every 15 seconds. Under Waiting for your approval, find your new request. Check its time, name and Telegram ID, select Approve, then confirm.
  4. Send another Telegram message. Messages sent before approval are not answered later.

Approve only the request you just sent. Senders choose their own names, so a name alone does not prove identity. Anyone can message the bot.

Check three results: Status shows Connected, your account appears under People who can talk to her on Telegram, and a new message gets a reply.

Choose a notification destination

Send /sethome in the Telegram conversation you want to use for notifications and check the confirmation. No home channel is set for Telegram means no destination is set yet.

When you set up a schedule, also check its delivery setting.

Give someone access or remove it

Ask a trusted person to message the bot. Check their request, select Approve and ask them to send again. Their work requests may involve the mate’s memories and data.

Under People who can talk to her on Telegram, select their Remove button and confirm. They leave the list; with normal pairing, their next message creates a new request.

If the card says an allowed-users list is configured, messages from anyone outside that list are ignored and do not create requests. Contact support if you need to change that setup.

Replace a token or bot

If a token leaks, revoke it in BotFather and obtain a new one. The old token stops working. See Telegram’s BotFather guide.

Select Replace token on the card, paste the new token and confirm. The mate restarts again. Check the status and send a message afterward. Approved accounts remain approved. If you connect a different bot, this mate stops answering through the old bot.
