Exhausted credit, a rejected key and expired authorisation need different fixes. Read the AI Model status and recommendation before changing an account.

Open the dashboard → Mate Settings → select a mate → AI Model. Read the reason and What to do. Check again refreshes the status; it does not top up an account.

Match the cause

Notice	Meaning	Next step
Credit has run out.	The selected service lacks available credit.	Check that provider’s account and usage, handle its actual payment or credit options and check again.
“The … key was rejected.”	The provider rejected the current key.	Check the provider and key using Connect an AI account, then update it securely.
“The … authorisation has expired.”	That account needs reconnecting.	Reconnect in the AI-account section and recheck.
“The … key has hit its limit for now.”	A temporary usage limit.	Wait for recovery. An available fallback can take over according to model order.
No main model chosen	An account may be connected without a primary model.	Set one using Change an AI model.
Current status unavailable	The check has no current result.	Check Mate not responding.

The provider confirms actual AI charges and credit. Your realvco subscription bill is separate.

Confirm the fix

Return to AI Model and select Check again. Confirm that the account error has cleared.
Check the primary model in Model order. Connecting an account alone does not make its model primary.
Send a short message and check a reply. A real conversation uses that model’s credit or billing.

For fewer interruptions, add fallback models with valid connections and available credit. Each fallback has its own limits.
